Former Rotary Club of Parker Member Cathy Groves
Greetings from former Rotary Club of Parker member, Cathy Groves.  It was so much fun to hear about the great fundraiser you are having at Boondocks this summer.  Even though I can’t be there, I purchased a ticket for Rotary to give the Parker Police Department to support the youth in Parker.
I’m thrilled to be able to contribute to this fundraiser in the effort to build better associations between the kids and police officers.   I think this fundraiser will make a bigger footprint between the youth of Parker and getting to know your officers in a different context.  This is a fantastic opportunity to show how much you care without having to do more than just make a donation if you can’t attend or give you an opportunity to have fun with your kids and/or grandchildren.  What will you do to help?
Open World Program on March 22, 2018

Please not that this meeting will be help at Boondocks in Parker (by COSTCO) and there will be a $15.00 Breakfast Buffet.  This is a meeting you do NOT want to miss!

Rotary International requests our Club to stand up and WELCOME the International Delegation of Firemen/Rescue Specialists from Ukraine as our Guests, under the "Open World" US Sponsored Program. It has been an honor to have been selected for this program and now I kindly ask all Rotarians to respond with their participation. Rotary International expects from us to promote Rotary International to our International guests and at the same time Open World expects us to also listen at their Presentation. Many of our previous guests have become Rotarians in their countries after learning what Rotary is and does.

Because of their early departure on Sat. March 24th, the Club have decided to not have the formal Farewell Dinner the night before and instead ask all Rotarians to participate to this "Open WORLD DAY EVENT" during our THU, March 22nd Breakfast meeting, at the Conference Center at Boondock's - 18706 Cottonwood Dr, Parker, CO 80138 - from 06:30-09:15am!

In order to secure the meeting room and establish the headcount every participant will need to contribute a                  $15.00 "All-You-Can-Eat American Buffet Breakfast" served from 6:30-7:30am. This fee will be charged automatically to your Rotary Fee account and as normal our Secretary will be taking attendance, and will check of your name for participation to this event.

Thank you and I am looking forward to receive your positive RSVP by THU, March 15 at the latest!

BOOKS, BOOKS and Books
Our Chaparral High School Interact Club has taken on a service project for an organization that partners with community and county human services agencies to provide backpacks filled with essential items for children and youth who are in transition into out-of-home or foster care.  Packs of Hope has served over 7,000 children and youth since 2008 from the Denver Metro area (Arapahoe, Boulder, Denver, Douglas, El Paso, Jefferson, and Weld Counties) at no cost to the county or the child.
The Interact students are collecting books to present to the organization.  A book will be included in each backpack in addition to clothing and toiletry items so that a child has some belongings after being removed from an unhealthy or unsafe home situation.
Let’s help our Interact Club by bringing a new book(s) to our Club meeting on March 1 and 8.  New books should be for preschool through high school age groups.  Our students are looking forward to our partnership on this Rotary project!
