Jennifer Walker Gives Update on the Crisis Center
Domestic violence is a pattern of behavior used to establish power and control over another person through fear and intimidation, often including the threat or use of violence.

Domestic violence happens when one person believes they are entitled to control another. It may involve physical abuse, sexual abuse, psychological abuse, financial abuse and animal abuse.   We define domestic violence as a pattern of abusive behavior in any relationship that is used by one partner to gain or maintain power and control over another intimate partner.  Domestic violence can be physical, sexual, emotional, economic, or psychological actions or threats of actions that influence another person. This includes any behaviors that intimidate, manipulate, humiliate, isolate, frighten, terrorize, coerce, threaten, blame, hurt, injure, or wound someone.

Great Meeting Today!
New Rotary Club of Parker, Jay Boscoe, shared with the Club that he is a third generation breadmaker.  His grandparents were from Russia and Poland and were breadmakers followed by his father.  Jay spend years as a breadmaker himself and then as others big corporations began opening stores he left that business and was working in catering at the Medical Center of Aurora.  This past March Jay decided to semi-retire and now works a couple days a week at the Medical Center.

Another new member, Wendell Geary spoke about his upbringing in a missionary family.  His father served as a MD while is mom was a nurse.  Wendell is a member of the Joy Lutheran Church and looks forward to getting involved with Rotary projects so he can give back to the community he has lived in for the past 5 years.  He works part time in finance at Joy Lutheran Church and started a business called Iron Horse to help turn around non-profits.  His parents exemplified a life time of service.

Our Speaker this week was Steven Osborne, Special Agent IRS Criminal Investigation and brought along this assistant Mindy Wilgus.  The was a very enlightening presentation.
