Jennifer Walker Gives Update on the Crisis Center
Domestic violence is a pattern of behavior used to establish power and control over another person through fear and intimidation, often including the threat or use of violence.

Domestic violence happens when one person believes they are entitled to control another. It may involve physical abuse, sexual abuse, psychological abuse, financial abuse and animal abuse.   We define domestic violence as a pattern of abusive behavior in any relationship that is used by one partner to gain or maintain power and control over another intimate partner.  Domestic violence can be physical, sexual, emotional, economic, or psychological actions or threats of actions that influence another person. This includes any behaviors that intimidate, manipulate, humiliate, isolate, frighten, terrorize, coerce, threaten, blame, hurt, injure, or wound someone.

Memorial Day Service
The Rotary Club of Parker was well represented at yesterday’s Memorial Day Service. Rotarian Lindy Blackburn served as Master of Ceremonies while Rotarian Ben Martin gave an inspired message on the Pledge of Allegiance and then led those gathered in reciting the Pledge. Rotarian Jim Muir performed several patriotic songs with the Parker Chorale.  Twelve Rotarians volunteered to provide chilled water to the several hundred people in attendance including:  Sue Gardner, Carl Finamore, Don Clasen, Tom Furmanski, Ben Martin, Dennis Brewster, Jim Muir, Randy Hill, Bill Shriver, Ron Sorlien, Michelle Duncan and Mike Endres.  Cadets from the Parker Civil Air Patrol (CAP), squadron, under the supervision of Rotarians Ron Saatjian and De Olson,  partnered with the Rotary Club of Parker to distribute water. Rotarians Tom VanderHeiden and Irv Buck were at the ceremony that was organized by Rotarian Steve Trevino.
