Vocational Talks

Rotarian Steve Trevino and Rotarian Tom VanderHeiden gave vocational talks at today's meeting.  Steve is the owner of Ponderosa Valley Funeral Services while Tom is the CEO of VanderHeiden Financials.
December 6th Special

Larry Walters from the Douglas County Sheriff Department and Sgt. John Hoskinson gave a special about the Community Safety Volunteer Program.

Community Safety Volunteers or CSV's are civilians who have an interest in law enforcement. They help the sheriff’s office by providing services that don’t require the attention of a sworn officer. That means traffic control, impounding cars, house watches, elementary school checks, VIN verification and neighborhood patrols. CSV's can also work inside the office, making the program great for anyone 20 and older.

Requirements to be a CSV:

  • Must be 20 years of age or older.
  • Must be a citizen of the United States.
  • Must possess a valid Colorado driver’s license.
  • Must pass a written general aptitude test, an integrity interview, polygraph, psychological, full background investigation and medical testing.
  • Must not have any felony convictions.
  • No illegal drug use within the last three (3) years and no alcohol related traffic offenses within seven (7) years.
  • Must have the ability to deal with confidential information and keep it confidential.
  • Possess good public speaking and presentation skill
  • Must attend the CSV Academy for nine weeks.

If you’re interested in becoming a CSV, please contact us at CSV@DCSheriff.net.
