It's almost time for Rotary's next 5th Thursday Happy Hour!  It will be Thursday, August 30th from 6-8pm at Brick House Tap and Tavern.    19320 Cottonwood Dr, Parker, CO 80138  They have a full menu to order drinks and food from. 
Brock Mullen Attended RYLA
 
Chaparral High School Student, Brock Mullen, attended RYLA this summer and gave a program about his life changing experiences at camp.  Ryan has been on the Honor Roll every semester in high school.  He was selected as Student of the Quarter, Letting twice in Academics, received the Chinese Excellence in Performance Award and was inducted into the National Honor Society, National Chinese Honor Society and International Thespian Society.  Ryan ranks 5th in his class of 550.  
Scouting in Parker Troop 18
Incoming Scoutmaster, Nate Smith, gave a program about Troop 16 that meets at Parker United Methodist Church.  Troop 16 is the oldest troop in Parker and currently has over 120 scouts.  They are the Parker High Adventure group and go camping monthly, with the exception of December.  Over 50 of their scouts attended summer camp.  A few of their activities include trash pick up at Parker Days, shooting sports campout, lock in with Cyber safety and various community service projects.  They have an annual Pancake Dinner fundraiser.
Praying Hands Ranch Needs our HELP!
 
CALLING ALL GARDENERS!
Carl and Shirley at Praying Hands Ranches are in need of our help. The Sensory Gardens have gotten a bit neglected this summer and need to be weeded/cleaned out/raked. We will be meeting at the ranch Friday, August 24th at 9am and should be done by early afternoon depending on how many people come help. Even if you can spare just an hour or two, come join us! Thank-you to those who have already signed up. I will be sending out an email reminder with more details next week to all who sign up. If you are able to help, please email me at mduncan2275@gmail.com. The ranch is located at 11892 E. Hilltop Road, Parker.
Berit Erickson Returns from a Year in Switzerland
Youth Exchange Student, Berit Erickson, who has just returned from a school year in Switzerland spoke to the Club about the amazing experiences she had during the year and how much she enjoyed living with two different families.   Berit highly recommended the Rotary Exchange Program.

DIRECTIONS
  1. Mix peach slices with 3/4 cup sugar, set aside.
  2. Pour butter in 8 inch square baking dish.
  3. Mix flour, baking powder, salt, nutmeg and remaining sugar.
  4. Stir in milk, until just combined.
  5. Pour over butter.
  6. Top with peaches.
  7. Bake at 375* for 45 minutes.
