Lisa Frizell, Douglas County Assessor

Lisa spoke to us on April 18 about the 2019/2020 property valuation process for Douglas County.  On May 1, the Assessor’s Office will mail a notice to each property owner showing the appraised value of their property.  Click here to access a copy of the handout she brought describing the assessment process.

For more information or to get a sneak preview of your home’s appraised value before the May 1 mailing, go to the website at www.douglas.co.us/assessor
Supporting the Parker Library While Honoring Our Guest Speakers

Mike Endres, Director of Community Service for the Rotary Club of Parker, presents a check for $1000 to Amy Long, manager of the Parker Library.  This check represents our book donation program in honor of our guest speakers.
End Polio Now!
Thank you to the many members who have already donated/pledged to this year’s fundraising campaign.  If we all pitch in, we can make the club’s goal of $5000.  Remember that the Rotary Club of Parker Foundation will provide a dollar-for-dollar match for contributions from $25 to $50.  Please contact Lew Million at lelmillion@aol.com to make your pledge for this year.
Announcements Lamplighter April 19
Our meeting on April 25 will be held at Joy Lutheran Church (7051 E Parker Hills Court, Parker, 80138).  This will be the third and final trial location in our search for a new venue.

Also coming up at the April 25 meeting, Pat Kendrick reminded us of the vote on the amendment to our club's constitution necessary to facilitate our relocation from Parker Adventist Hospital to a new venue.   Currently, the hospital's name and address are specifically cited in Article 4 "Locality of the Club."  With this amendment, Article 4 "Locality of the Club" will now read "greater Parker, Colorado area."  Please make every effort to attend the April 25 meeting, as we need a quorum to approve this change.

Wayne Wagener reminded us of the fundraiser to support the victims of the flooding in Nebraska and other midwestern states.  To make a donation, write your check to the Denver Southeast Rotary Club Foundation (write Nebraska Flood Relief in the subject line) and send it to
Denver Southeast Rotary Club Foundation, Attn: Kris Morse
PO Box 2764
Littleton, CO   80161.
Joe Gregory is heading up the effort – if you have questions, you can contact him directly at joegregory@q.com or 303-345-5370.

Alvaro Pisoni reminded us of the Open World Program coming up from June 7-15.  Open World delegates from the nation of Georgia will speak to our club on June 13.

Ed Brewer from the Rotary Club of Castle Rock invited us to participate in this year’s Ducky Derby on Saturday, June 8, 2019.
