District 5450 Award Winner

Congratulations to Kam Breitenbach and the Rotary Club of Parker who won two awards at the 2015 Rotary District Conference. The awards were for the Ed Bemis Award and the Alana James Diversity Award.
The Ed Bemis Award:
For : Best Club Communications

The Bemis Award is named for the late Edwin A. Bemis, long-time editor/publisher of the Littleton Independent. He was a president of the club and coined the name "Editarian" for the editors of the Rotary Club Bulletins.

For: Significantly reducing intolerance of Racial, Ethnic, Religious, Gender and Sexual Diversity within their club or community.
The Award is named for Alana James, former member and friend of the Rotary Club of Denver LoDo. Alana James has spent a lifetime working to reduce intolerance in society, both personally and professionally. During Alana’s membership with the club, both she and her partner taught Rotarians in LoDo about the triumphs of diversity, and joys of interacting with those who are marginalized by society.
